Dr Akhter’s practice is centred on dispute resolution. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Civil Mediation Council registered mediator, and a member of the Society for Computers and Law, where he serves on its panel as an adjudicator (arbitrator) and mediator. His work and training span mediation, arbitration, adjudication, negotiation, advocacy and litigation.
His background combines law with substantial commercial and technical experience. He holds an LLB (Hons), completed the Bar course, and has postgraduate qualifications in computing and dispute resolution, together with a PhD. Before entering legal practice, he worked extensively in IT consulting and later founded and managed businesses operating within professional and legal services.
His current work includes civil and commercial disputes, property and housing matters, personal injury, technology related disputes, mediation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution.
